Personally, wallpapering is what we most enjoy doing, but a lot of customers have smaller projects alongside their wallcovering work, repainting the woodwork in a powder bath, fixing a ceiling, that kind of thing. They don’t want to coordinate two separate crews, a paint crew and a wallcovering crew, just to get one room done.
We also offer full-service painting because many designers and homeowners have larger projects that involve both painting and wallcovering. Handling both minimizes confusion and scheduling headaches, we can come in as a single team, take care of all the prep work and painting, and finish with the wallcovering installation, which is typically the last step in the process.
From the first visit to the day work begins, here’s what to actually expect.
For smaller jobs we can sometimes put together an estimate from photos and a description of the space. For larger jobs, we’ll walk the space in person, talk through color choices, and use Benjamin Moore’s custom color-matching system if you’re matching an existing color, a designer’s spec, or a sample you provide.
Prep work always comes first: patching holes, smoothing imperfections, and addressing any wall damage before paint goes on. We treat prep with the same care whether we’re painting or hanging wallcovering, since imperfections show through paint just as easily as they do wallpaper.
We keep the project as clean and low-disruption as possible, with dust control during wall prep and protection for floors and furniture before any paint goes on.
We use Benjamin Moore exclusively, matched to the space: Aura for walls, Scuff-X for high-traffic areas, and Command for woodwork and trim. The right paint for the right surface, applied by the same hands throughout.
Once the paint is on, we do a thorough cleanup and walk the space with you to make sure everything meets our standard before we call the job finished.
We use Benjamin Moore paint exclusively. Paint quality really comes down to the grade of titanium dioxide used in the formula, and Benjamin Moore uses the highest grade available. That’s why their paints go on uniformly, hold up well over time, match consistently between cans, and touch up easily later.
For walls, the best paint on the market is Benjamin Moore Aura. It’s well known for covering in a single coat, which actually saves on labor costs even though the paint itself isn’t cheap, it’s still far more cost-effective than the alternative. Aura is genuinely good enough to take a white bedroom to navy blue in a single coat.
For high-traffic areas, kids’ rooms, game rooms, hallways, we recommend Benjamin Moore Scuff-X. It’s exceptionally durable, close to indestructible in the spaces that see the most wear.
For all woodwork, we use Benjamin Moore Command, a water-based urethane paint that adheres to virtually any surface. It dries to the touch in about an hour, which means we can paint a hallway at noon and have kids running down it by mid-afternoon without disturbing the finish. We no longer use oil-based paints at all, Command outperforms them, has zero VOCs and zero odor, and won’t yellow over time the way oil-based paints eventually do.
